Temp to Hire Opportunity ~ LEGAL ASSISTANT
Our client in Vallejo is looking for a Legal Assistant or Paralegal primarily with experience in civil litigation, but who also has experience in probate. Candidates with no probate experience must be able to be cross-trained to the probate area, not only because of the potential crossover to litigation, but also to support the attorneys in the firm who practice in that area. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping clients, be self-motivated, and be able to multitask. The ideal candidate will also be able to work independently, have excellent communication skills, and possess a strong work ethic.
Duties of the LEGAL ASSISTANT:
-Assist Attorneys with administrative tasks. Will prepare and file court documents such as motions, orders, replies to pleadings, discovery responses, etc.
-Assist in the area of probate, as well as organize and maintain legal files and documents
- Transcribe dictations and prepare legal correspondence
- Answer phone calls and take messages with proper phone etiquette
- Perform data entry and update client information in the database
- Proofread legal documents for accuracy and completeness
- Assist with document management systems and electronic filing
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant information for cases
- Prepare contracts, agreements, and other legal documents
Pay: $52,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
Job Requirements
Skills of the LEGAL ASSISTANT:
- Experience working as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal, particularly in civil litigation and probate
- Proficient in file management and record keeping
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy in proofreading
- Familiarity with document management systems and software
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality
- Strong computer skills, including data entry and Microsoft Office Suite proficiency
