Quality Assurance Technician – Day Shift
Job Description
Alkar Human Resources is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to support a fast-paced production and warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience in QA/QC, production, and/or warehouse operations and be comfortable working in a hands-on environment.
The Quality Assurance Technician will be responsible for monitoring quality control points, performing laboratory testing, maintaining QA documentation, and supporting food safety and quality programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and document quality control points on the production line, including weight, label height, and lot codes.
- Report and document food safety and quality deviations to the production department.
- Complete and maintain QA and food safety production reports.
- Maintain the finished product retention program.
- Hold and document products that are out of specification.
- Perform routine laboratory testing, including pH, Brix, water activity, acidity titration, and viscosity.
- Perform daily calibration and documentation of laboratory equipment.
- Monitor and order laboratory supplies as needed.
- Perform ATP, allergen, and gluten-free testing following sanitation procedures.
- Scan and maintain Certificates of Analysis (COAs) and follow up with vendors when documentation is missing.
- Download temperature data from data loggers and maintain records.
- Prepare COAs for management review.
- Maintain foreign material and glass breakage logs.
- Approve and document incoming labels.
- Perform monthly inspections related to food safety and quality.
- Perform environmental swabbing as scheduled.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) guidelines at all times.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- At least 1 year of QA/QC, production, and/or warehouse experience.
- Ability to work at a fast pace in a production environment.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with multiple departments and team members.
- Reliable transportation.
- Excellent attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly.
- Ability to stand for up to 8 hours, with breaks.
- Ability to bend, twist, and lift items from the floor, overhead, and above the shoulders.
- Ability to work safely around moving mechanical equipment.
- Willingness to follow all safety, quality, and food safety procedures.
Work Environment
This position is located in a warehouse/production facility. Employees may be exposed to loud noise, moving mechanical parts, and concrete work surfaces. Safety glasses and hearing protection are provided and required.
